Yoga in Greece
NOURISHMENT FOR BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT
Location:
What could be more special than practising yoga on a specially built pod within a blink of the Aegean? Treat your senses to the smell of the sea, the endless horizon and the sunbeams on the water. Our venue for the week is Rosy’s Little Village situated on the beautiful island of Agistri.
Rosy’s is nestled between the sparkling waters of the Saronic Gulf and the fragrant pine forests of the island. There are terraces overlooking the sparkling blue sea, with quiet corners to read, chat or simply relax. Rosy’s is situated at Skliri, only 30 metres from a beautiful rocky and sandy private beach providing easy access to both shallow and deep clear water. It is safe for swimming, cooling off or for gently paddling the sea canoes. The beautiful surroundings support the ideal environment for us to relax, unwind and refresh.
Food:
Rosy’s offers a varied brunch buffet, suitable for vegetarians and vegans, with loads of choice and freshly prepared local dishes.
Dinner will offer a variety of meat, fish and veggie dishes and lots of salads.
The venue also hosts a local restaurant so if you are feeling peckish during the day, or just fancy a coffee and baklava, you won't have far to walk!
Venture Further:
After brunch on the terrace, how about a walk through the forests or along the coast? Take a boat trip around the island? Become proficient using the free sea kayaks? Or read a book, relax, and unwind; doing nothing allows space to open up within, especially in our time-pressed, deadline driven lives.
Accommodation:
Surrounded by flourishing hibiscus, oleander, and geranium, the light and airy accommodation at Rosy's is justly celebrated for its tasteful Greek simplicity. All rooms are individual, a perfect blend of comfort and down to earth charm.
All rooms are ensuite and have balconies commanding superb views over the Saronic Gulf. Beautifully simple and simply beautiful.
Yoga:
I work to ensure that all students can participate and benefit from the practices, whether you’re new to yoga or a more experienced student. The time on the mat is for you to enjoy and celebrate what your body can do, with a positive and non-judgemental or competitive attitude. The experience of yoga on a retreat offers the time and space to take your practice to a deeper, more transformational level.
The day will start with a refreshing cup of tea and fruit. We will then rendezvous on the platform for a morning practice which will be dynamic and active, harnessing the power of the sun and the energy of the day to invigorate, enliven and stimulate. Brunch will be served on the terrace. The rest of the day is yours to explore this fascinating area or relax on the beach or terraces. The evening practice will be softer, quieter and more meditative as the day cools and evening unfolds; we will have time for some gentler asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra. To close the day, we will share each other’s company and a delicious dinner on the outside terrace overlooking the sea.
I don’t belong to any particular school of yoga and teach in a non-dogmatic eclectic way, with the emphasis on being inquisitive as to what your body can or cannot do, today, now, rather than acquisitive of posture or end result. You are free to do as much or as little as you wish; non-yoga partners are very welcome.
Getting there:
Fly to Athens, readily available from numerous UK airports; then transfer to Piraeus and ferry or Flying Dolphin to Agistri. Complimentary pick up from the port and a welcome complimentary drink on arrival at Rosy’s.
The yoga, the delicious food, beautiful accommodation, the quiet location, wonderful sunshine and the opportunity to find time to be with yourself will nourish the soul, relax the body and calm the mind. Turn homewards at the end of the week invigorated and centred!

I have been with Lesley on three trips abroad and all were terrific experiences. The places chosen were wonderful for food, accommodation and views. The company has been most congenial and the chance to spend a week indulging in interesting yoga sessions a real treat. I look forward to joining you in the future.
